Happy Mother’s Day!

I want to wish all of the wonderful Mother’s a very special day today!

Here are a few quotes that bring many of you to my mind.

Mother love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible.” Marion C. Garretty

“Sometimes the poorest woman leaves her children the richest inheritance.” Ruth E. Renkel

“Of all the rights of women, the greatest is to be a Mother.” Lin Yutang

“The moment a child is born, the Mother is also born.” Rajneesh

“Most Mothers are instinctive philosophers.”  Harriet Beecher Stowe

Mothers can look through a child’s eyes and see tomorrow.” Reed Markham

“Great Mothers build bridges instead of walls.”  Reed Markham

“There is only one pretty child in the world and every mother has it.” Chinese Proverb

“The Mother’s heart is the child’s schoolroom.”  Henry Ward Beecher

And for all of the Creative Souls and Artist Mothers:

“My Mother said to me: If you become a soldier you’ll be a general; if you become a monk you’ll end up as the Pope. Instead, I became a painter and wound up as Picasso.”  Pablo Picasso

Please feel free to add your favorite inspiring quotes as well, I would love to hear them ;)

Enjoy your day, love your children and may peace be with all of you!

Peace

Peace, untroubled, tranquil, content. My wonderful father passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. He was a man of honor and integrity and my hero by far. He now rests in Peace no longer suffering from the selfish Alzheimers disease. I feel blessed to have been able to spend his last days, hours and minutes with him and I will cherish my last vision of him in this life, completely relaxed, without any worries. I will miss you terribly, dad, until we meet again, but I know I have yet another angel guiding and watching over me.

Peace be with you Dad!

Love,

Sharon

Why do we wear Green on St. Patrick’s Day?

I love the color green, but what is behind the tradition of wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day?  You mean it’s not to give support to MSU during March Madness, I think that’s a great cause :) especially since they did not partake in one of the big upsets this year, thank goodness!

Here is a brief article explaining the tradition of Green:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/15/st-patricks-day_n_1348003.html

Sweet and simple, but I especially liked this part “On the holiday, people in Ireland do not wear as much green or celebrate quite as wildly as revelers do elsewhere, although there is a legend that wearing green makes you invisible to leprechauns that will pinch you if they can see you. ” So, unless you like little leprechauns pinching you when you least expect it, put a little “green” on!

Happy St. Paddy’s Day! Enjoy and Be Safe!

Hello world!

Welcome to my Blog!

I am thrilled to be starting a new chapter in my life, leaving the corporate world and all of it’s stressors behind, see ya later!

I have always dabbled in all types of arts and crafts since I was a child, from paper dolls to sewing, cross stitching, crocheting, knitting etc. I have many boxes packed away that are loaded with crafty treasures from the past.

The year 2004 was when I discovered my true art passion, working with fire and molten glass.  I signed up for an 8 hour class to learn the basics of lampworking and the rest is history.  I became totally obscessed with the magic of melting glass into tiny forms of beads, spending many hours at the torch and getting lost in time.  The array of color is just amazing and the process is mesmorizing.  I began selling my tiny bead creations on ebay which was quite successful for me, unfortunately my corporate job as an RN administrator took over my life and ebay fell to the wayside. Always keeping my hand at the torch during precious moments of spare time and researching new techniques kept my fire burning, no pun intended. Metalsmithing has also been a passion of mine, forging, chasing, folding, annealing various forms of metal into organic, modern jewelry pieces. Fire and Hammering, two very therapeutic activities :)

So now is the year, 2012, when I will take the giant step for mankind and devote my time towards creating handmade jewelry and beads with all of you in mind. I hope my designs put a smile on your face and make you feel pretty inside and out.

I thank all of my family and friends for their continued support and encouragement with this new adventure! Please take a moment to visit my website and my new online Etsy store when you have a chance.
